I have been asked repeatedly "Ganesha, what exactly is it that you do?" Um... Lots of stuff! So I have decided to create a "central repository" of sorts to show what I do. I guess you could say I'm a Jill of all trades, mistress of none.

I have been hosting Shoutcast since December of 2006. My business has expanded from ten streams to nearly one hundred, with plans on expanding soon.
I have been building in SL since I learned to create a prim. As a kid I was a Lego freak; I built crazy stuff all the time. I view building now as a giant set of advanced Legos, and I love to try out new things. My style is eclectic, and I often will begin a project with one idea, and it will transform into something entirely different (and usually entirely more wonderful!) than I had envisioned.
When doing custom builds, I must be allowed the freedom to be creative, while retaining the concept of the original plan.
I do not like boring boxes. I prefer rounded designs and angles.
Also included with my builds will be the textures I used for creating the build (non-transferable) in case you modify the build and wish to revert to the previous texture.
Does it look like I'm not doing anything? Why is it taking so long?
Simply put: I get burned out easily. I will often work on another side project while working on yours. Yes, I will get yours done, and in a timely manner. But again, I do need some freedom to be able to create. If I stick on one project consistently for long periods of time, the simple fact is... I most likely won't complete it. Allow me plenty of lead-time to be able to complete a project. I haven't forgotten you, nor am I charging you for the time I spend on other projects.
While you won't see many of my texture sets out for sale, I do very often create textures... Just not usually full sets. My textures can be found at Textures R Us.
I don't DJ very much anymore. Why is this? Because I cannot STAND gesture spamming. At all. I hate gestures with a passion. Yes, I do use gestures, but only ones appropriate for the situation, never repeatedly, and never obnoxious ones.
I normally only DJ goa/psy trance, but depending on the situation, I may do house, trance, or 80's-90's rock/alt rock/pop.
If you would like me to DJ, here is my criteria:
- I do not take requests
- I do not share my tips
- I do not talk during my broadcast (I am not a "yo yo yo" DJ)
- I *will* tell gesture spammers what I think of them
- I do not DJ for more than two hours, preferably one
- I do not DJ for free
While I do not do a lot of machinima creation, I do know how to do it, and I can do some interesting things. Again, I need to be left to be able to tap into my creativity. Bear in mind that machinima creation is a largely CPU, GPU, and bandwidth-intensive task. Editing is a largely Ganesha-thinking task.

A bit about my RL
I live in the USA, St. Louisi to be exact.
I am married (to my SL partner, Nitron), and we have two children.
I do computer repair for a living.
I am interested in "green" stuff like environment, renewable energy, sustained living, etc, but don't feed me psychobabble about it. ;)
I like to go to burns (think Burning Man), and most of my RL friends are burners.
The only beer I drink is PBR.
I am vegan.
I am very random.
I can occasionally be quite moody.
I have ADD.
What to expect from Ganesha
If I don't know you and you message me, please state your inquiry, as opposed to just "Hi." My online status is displayed on my profile.
I am very often not communicative, as I will be afk or looking elsewhere on my computer (even though I do have three monitors!), or involved in a project. If I do not respond (when I am online) within an hour, chances are I have crashed and lost your message. Try again.
I have little patience for people that are too lazy to spell out words such as "please" and "you." We don't need to conserve bandwidth or limit our keystrokes. Use full words.
If English is your native language, I know you went to school just like I did. Spell properly.
If English is NOT your native language, good for you for learning another language! I will have much more patience with you... But not the text message language.
If I seem like I am being short with you, please bear in mind that I may be busy. If you are asking me questions about Shoutcast, please pay attention to everything that I say to you. If I give you links, I don't give them to you to practice typing links. I want you to go to them. If you are too busy to have a full conversation about the issue you are having, then don't expect me to help you very much. And no, I can't do it for you.
Now, with all of this in mind, you may be thinking to yourself "Wow, Ganesha sounds like a total bitch!"
Not so. I can be one of the warmest, friendliest people you will ever meet. I love meeting new people, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge with them. But when I get someone talking to me that meets one of the above criteria, I grit my teeth, and I may be less than the friendly, helpful Ganesha that most people know me as.
So to reiterate:

- Don't ask me for help then not listen to my answers
- Don't expect me to do for you what you are asking for help with
- Don't expect me to immediately respond to you
- Don't assume that you know me
- I am human
